Products for that coveted glow...

Ahoy everyone,

How are you all spending this gloomy and cold afternoon? Personally, I tend to be very productive in this weather so I thought I should prepare a couple of posts that I wanted to share with you.
The first one is a post that I had been thinking about doing for a couple of months now and it consists of the highlighters I have in my "collection". Even though I did not used to consider myself a huge highlighter fan, that has changed recently. I think it is because I am getting older and my skin needs that extra help and added glow. So I have been playing around with different finishes, shades and types of highlighters and I decided to share them all with you in the hope that this post will be useful and interesting. So let's get on with it...
The Overview

The Breakdown

Benefit's Watt's Up is a great soft focus highlighter, great for flash photography, easily blendable and so pretty on the skin. It is the perfect product for someone who wants to give highlighters a try.

Benefit's High Beam (mine came in a set) is a nice pink-toned highlighter. This is not my cup of tea simply because it is quite pink and pinks do not often agree with my skin tone. However it is still a nice highlighter.

MAC's Lustre Drops in "Pink Rebel" I have had for years and I have used so, so much. Even though the swatch on the left makes it look like there might be a hint of pink in there, the swatch on the right shows you exactly the effect it gives the skin after you blend the product. I also love this for flash photography.

MAC's "Vanilla" pigment is probably my oldest highlighting product. I actually bought it with the intention of using it as an eyeshadow and a brow bone highlighter. I later experimented with it as a face highlighter and I must say it is a stunning product for people with fair skin. Once completely blended out it gives the most beautiful glow to the skin.

NARS' "Albatros" highlighter came with this blush/bronzer trio and for the longest time I avoided using it because of the fact that it looks white. Now, after I saw this on one of my favourite youtubers Nikkie (from NikkieTutorials) I fell in loooove with it. I have been using it with a fan brush on the tops of my cheekbones and I love the golden glow it gives me. Also, a little goes a very long way. ;)

Second to last we have MAC's Extra Dimension Skinfinish in "Superb"(LE). This, apparently, is a dupe for Estee Lauder's "Modern Mercury" powder. I bought this almost two years ago and I have to say that even though it is a gorgeous colour, I can only wear it when I have a tan, which is pretty much never. This saddens me since, as I said, the colour is phenomenal. I would absolutely recommend this product for medium and dark skin tones. If you can get your hands on it I GUARANTEE you will love it.

The last product I want to talk about is the FUSION BEAUTY "Ultraflesh" Shinebox * .
This is a product that includes 5 beautiful highlighting products (1 powder, 2 creams and 2 pencils).

This is how the inside looks.

The powder (anyplace)

Cream products (anywhere & anytime)

Pencils (Nude Shimmer & Secret Shimmer)

The Swatches!

There is something for everyone in this kit.
My personal favourites are the pencils and the powder. I love how wearable they are and how long they stay on the skin/eyes. And if you are just starting out with make-up and want to experiment with different textures and finishes then you will be very pleased with this.

That is all for today's post guys!!!!I hope this was helpful and that you enjoyed it and I will be back very very very soon with an exciting mini giveaway which will include one of the products in this post!

Stay tuned!!
xoxo

Review: Kiehl's Actively correcting and Beautifying BB Cream

Ahoy guys,

Happy 2014 first of all!!! All my very best wishes for a wonderful New Year!! How the heck have you all been??
I have a brand new post for you guys today and it is a REVIEW!! I am extremely excited to do this review because I haven't found all that many reviews of this product so I thought this post would be helpful.
So, a couple of weeks ago I received a belated but very much appreciated birthday present from a good friend of mine. I had mentioned that I needed a tinted moisturiser/bb cream and that I was looking into this particular product. So when we went shopping together she double checked and got it for me. Needless to say I was floured and super excited to try it out.

Now I am going to go about this review as I do pretty much all of my reviews...! I am going to present the product(pics and everything) and then I am going to list the pros and cons (according to my opinion of course). So let's get on with it...

Pros +

Great Coverage (better coverage than any other bb cream I have ever tried, for that matter)
SPF 50+
3 shades to choose from
Great lasting power
Not greasy
Stays on the skin for a long time
Very easy to blend
Great for sensitive skin

Cons -

The price which is in the 30's range(in EURO) and 23.50 (in GBP)
The amount you get in the tube (30ml)

Now that I have listed the pros and cons let me tell you whether or not I would recommend this product. Well, I have tried many bb creams/ Tinted moisturisers in my time and I can safely say that this is the best one. I think I will keep re-purchasing this product until I find something else that is just as good but slightly more affordable. However, having said that, I do think that the price is justified by the product itself and how great it is.

So, that was all for today my lovelies. I know this turned into a rant but this is my humble opinion and I really wanted to share it with you. Let me know whether you have tried this product and what your thoughts are on it.
